This local mom is wife to former Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver, Eddie Kennison. They have two sons. In addition to family life, Shimika is very active with QUICKSTART-The Eddie Kennison Foundation. The Kennisons started the foundation in 2003. More recently, Shimika opened her own cosmetology school, Entourage Institute. The Kennisons decided to make Kansas City home, believing it to be a great place to raise a family. Kansas City Parent Magazine had a chance to talk with Shimika to learn more about this hardworking local mom who proves that you can call Kansas City home without loving barbecue!
