Homemade Chore Chart

Like many of you, I’m sure, I like to step up the chore routine during the summer. With a little extra time the girls can help out more. And at 5 & 7 I am hoping that their helping might even help me out!

The Easiest Sewing Project on Earth!

I have a love-hate relationship with sewing. Mostly, I love love love what I can do with my sewing machine. (Kind of like working out I guess – everyone loves the end result.) But the doing it?

Upcycled Flower Jars

So, let’s go ahead and give some thought to May Day, Mother’s Day and Memorial Day flowers. I of course enjoy a store bought bouquet of lovely flowers anyday (right, honey?) – but I am going to encourage you to create something of your own. I am a huge fan of upcycling glass jars.

Love Notes for Kids

I think there’s nothing more important than showering our kiddos with love, I thought this would be a super cute (and easy!) way to celebrate February: the month of love! Print these cute hearts to create love notes for your kids.

Fabric Flowers

Some people knit...I’ve never been able to get the hang of it. But, I’ve always wanted a little crafty project to do, infront of the TV, or while hanging out with the girls watching them play or perform or do cartwheels across the living room in their jammies. Especially in the winter, when the days are short, and we’re not out playing in the yard until bedtime, I always wished a little project would sit in a basket next to my couch waiting for me. And I finally found it! I know it sounds funny, but my new obsession is fabric flowers!

Love You

8 years ago today my hubby and I said “I do.” I love him dearly but he is the hardest guy in the world to buy gifts for. And lately, we’ve really scaled back on the gifts in favor of getting out more, splurging on sitters, and well, paying bills of course. So, this year I thought I’d make a cute framed sign for our bedroom and found a cute saying on Pinterest I liked.

Fourth of July Festivities

I’ve never been the best at decorating the house for each and every holiday. But, the Fourth of July and all of the patriotism that goes along with it is sort of irresistible. And with the Olympics starting later in the month, all the more reason to go USA all the way!

Have a Sweet Summer

So, if you’re a procrastinator (like me!) you might be scrambling to put together something cute and original for this year’s teachers. Or maybe you have the teacher’s gifts finished and you still want a little something special for that ballet instructor, or piano teacher, or the carpool lady... I have the idea for you!

Take a Walk and Reach Goals

One of the things I love the most is to take long walks with my girls and our (new!) dog, Bella. I have noticed that ending the day with a walk makes even a hard day so much better. Often times, I don’t give myself enough credit for those walks. To give myself full credit I’ve created a walking chart you can use too!

Music Inspired DIY Projects!

I absolutely love music. And song lyrics are my favorite kind of poetry. Lately I’ve been having fun making art from music, so I thought I’d share one of my favorites with you.

Garage Sale Season

Garage sale season is here! I love this time of year because I love to pick up items for re-purposing or give new life to something that seems otherwise unusable.
