Sept. 22 & 23: New Dance Partners is a collaboration where the Carlsen Center commissions choreographers to create original works for local dance companies, which then premiere on the Yardley Hall stage.

Sept. 22-24: Transport yourself to the heart of Munich with all the excitement of this wundervoll fall festival in downtown Lee’s Summit. Grab your lederhosen and dirndl and join 70,000 festival goers for this festival. Enjoy Kids Street, arts and crafts, German meals, beer and brat tents, the Biergarten, carnival, the Sportzelt, live entertainment, contests, a Rootbiergarten, home brew tasting, German dancers and much more. Sept. 23 & 24, Sept. 30 & Oct. 1: Activities begin with the Louisburg Lions Pancake Breakfast. Other activities such as pony rides, inflatable slide, cider and donut-making and craft booths are ongoing throughout the day until 6 pm. Naturally, the first course of the Ciderfest is watching how apples are freshly pressed into 100% pure apple cider — from initial washing to the actual press. You can buy a cup of fresh hot or cold cider, munch on a cider doughnut, try a freshly dipped caramel apple, be there for the pancake breakfast, or sample a Lost Trail Root Beer — one of the soda treats that Louisburg Cider Mill has become famous for. Enjoy live music with a bluegrass or country flare, seek out homemade kettle corn and other unique fare like fried pickles. A wide variety of arts and craft booths abound where you can find gifts such as original candles and home crafted furniture or homemade toys for the kids!

Sept. 24: Join us as Kansas City celebrates the vibrant cultural and artistic expressions of American Indians, featuring the Haskell Indian Nations University Dancers, art activities, storytelling, games, and demonstrations. ENJOY Lakota storytelling, flute performance, and Hoop Dance by Kevin Locke (Lakota and Anishinaabe) of Bloomington, Indiana. EXPERIENCE the Apache Crown Dancers from Cibecue, Arizona. LEARN with Lakota musician Ron Brave and informal discussions with representatives of the Kansas City Indian Center. FREE parking in garage for museum members. $10 parking for nonmembers. American Indian-inspired cuisine will be available for purchase in Bloch Lobby 11 a.m.–4 p.m. and Rozzelle Court Restaurant 11 a.m.–3 p.m.; beverages and desserts until 4 p.m.

Sept. 22-24: There is so much entertainment, you'll be hard pressed to catch it all. As the kids whirl about on the rides to flashing lights and lively music, parents can sample light-as-air cotton candy or cooling snow cones. The festival proves to be a shopper's delight with everything from handmade crafts to home grown fruits & vegetables.

Sept. 22-24: The Plaza Art Fair encompasses nine city blocks and welcomes a crowd of over 250,000. Featuring 240 artists, the Plaza Art Fair is a top-ranked, national art event with three live music stages and over 25 featured restaurant booths. It continues to be a weekend of people simply celebrating art and each other, as well as Kansas City’s unofficial welcome to the fall season.

Sept. 22 & 23: A craft show, retail and flea markets, kettle corn, food, and antiques will be held both days from 9 o’clock in the morning to 4 o’clock in the afternoon. Missouri Town Dancers will perform at 11 o’clock in the morning and 2 o’clock in the afternoon both days as well. There will also be live music and entertainment; lost arts demonstrations; train, tram, and horse drawn carriage rides; a Methodist Church Salad lunch; apple butter making, pressed cider, a petting zoo, and a tractor show.

Weekends thru Oct. 15: Travel back in time and partake in a Kansas City Tradition since 1977. Pay heed to the exploits of Jousting Knights on thundering steeds, roam the village shops for unique crafts, delight in comedy, music, magic and more on our 20 stages of non-stop entertainment, and feast on delicious food and drinks from the far reaches of the globe! There’s something for the whole family in our enchanted 16-acre village.

Friday, 7pm Ice Cream Train. Regular rides Saturday, 11am and 2pm: Come, take a step back in time to the first half of the last century and ride a train like your grandparents may have ridden. Board our 1920's era passenger coach, or our open-air excursion car and take a ride behind our 1950's diesel locomotive through Old Towne Belton, Missouri and the surrounding area.
