Feel the world beat in the heart of America. This event is one of the largest festivals of its kind in the country and features more than 60 different cultures selling their native foods, crafts and performing ethnic music and dances. The festival is held during the third full weekend of August near the front entrance of historic Swope Park. for more information, visit the Ethnic Enrichment Commission website.

Mar 7: You could not, would not want to miss Paradise Park on a day like this. The Cat in the Hat will come to play to applaud the author’s big birthday! Take great pictures and cut loose! Enjoy a fun week with Dr. Seuss! Noon to 2 PM on Saturday but fun all week leading up the 7th as we prepared for the Cat!

Mar. 7- 31: Magnificent Blue Morpho butterflies will flutter about Powell Gardens' conservatory this March! Experience the conservatory as a tropical rainforest during “Out of the Blue,” a new exhibit featuring this gorgeous tropical butterfly.

Mary Poppins

Mar. 6-14: Based on the famous children's books by P. L. Travers and the classic Walt Disney film, it was nominated for nine Olivier and seven Tony Awards, including Best Musical, and ran for two thousand five hundred Broadway performances.

Storling Dance Theater's Underground

Mar. 6: Choreographed by the duo of Mona Störling-Enna and Tobin James, Underground is a visual tapestry based on true stories of the Underground Railroad.

Green Eggs & Ham Breakfast

Mar. 6: 9th Annual Green Eggs and Ham Breakfast. Reach Out and Read Kansas City prepares Kansas City's youngest children to succeed in school by partnering with doctors to prescribe books and encourage families to read together.
