Do you want to create custom print designs for fabric to use in a garment or sewing project? Join us for a hands-on introductory course that will teach you the fundamentals of graphic printmaking for fabric.
Only 10 places!
Students will:
- Learn about the creation of graphic prints and patterns and their practical application to a variety of textiles.
- Begin a basic sketchbook collection for inspiration, color palette creation, print mood board creation, and their relevance in the fashion industry.
- Become familiar with basic print and pattern creation and their uses in small and large scale apparel business, as well as a brief introduction to traditional repeat pattern applications throughout history and their relevance to the modern fashion industry.
- Develop a basic understanding of print creation, practical understanding and utilization in personal collections and industry.
Basic drawing/painting materials and sketchbooks will be provided.
This workshop is perfect for anyone interest in gaining a better understanding about basic graphic prints and patterns, history, application and creation for use in personal collection, or in the home or apparel industry. No prior knowledge necessary.
This class is being taught by Charlotte Munyard, an artist and print designer for Lilly Pulitzer with 7+ years industry experience and a Fibers and Textiles graduate of Savannah College of Art and Design.
